Dear friends, neighbors, fellow runners, and Dash sponsors,
You’ve seen it on Facebook, and if you live around or frequent the Bishop Arts District in North Oak Cliff, you’ve probably heard about it…..the DASH FOR THE BEADS! Months ago, several North Oak Cliff residents and friends began organizing a 5K run, 1 mile walk, and costume contest, with proceeds going to “Light Up Bishop Arts” by putting a uniform series of holiday lights on the buildings and trees all year round.
Please join us on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. in the Bishop Arts District for a costumed run/walk that you’ll be talking about for years!! There are great prizes for 5K finishers in each gender/age category AND even better prizes for the best group and individual costumes! Entertainer Krystal Summers and WFAA news anchor Shelly Slater will be judging the costume portion of the run/walk.
The race and walk both start and finish in the heart of Bishop Arts. We’ll have music, water stations, and even a Wii tent to get you pumped up before the race, and after the race is over, feel free to stumble into one of the fantastic restaurants in Bishop Arts!! Goto www.dashforthebeads.org to REGISTER! You can also check us out on Facebook for updates about the race and costume contest.
For individuals, businesses, and corporations that sponsor the race and for volunteers, we’re having an after-race party with pizza and drinks, courtesy of Eno’s Pizza! Goto www.dashforthebeads to SPONSOR or VOLUNTEER.
Please forward this email to your friends and to anyone you know who loves running, putting on a costume, or BOTH!
